Sleep: Having a little trouble falling asleep, but once asleep I'm asleep

What I miss: nothing

Cravings: None

 Symptoms: I feel great!

Best Moment this week: Hearing our child's heartbeat at our drs. appointment

 

We thought we would share with you what the weather was like on Friday on the way back from our 12 weeks doctors appointment. Enjoy!!

Total Weight Gain:  ?? (I need to get a scale first)

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but have been using hair ties to keep some of my tighter pants buckled ;)

Gender: ??

Movement: None

Sleep: I'm up every few hours going potty but other then that I've been sleeping a lot and taking LOTS of naps. (something I NEVER did)

What I miss: Mountain Dew

Cravings: nothing particular just wanting to eat all the time

 Symptoms:  just overall achy (but that might be from taking care of infants all day), very tired and a little moody

Best Moment this week: Getting our ultrasound picture (last week) and telling all our friends and family!!

Weekly Updates

Hey everyone! By now I am guessing you have all heard the news that we are expecting our first "little Toman". We thought it would be fun to keep everyone updated on a weekly basis about how everything is going, and something that would be fun for us to have throughout the pregnancy. My goal is to post every Friday (since that is exactly __weeks). I hope you will all enjoy sharing in our pregnancy with us. We are so excited to have all the support and love from everyone. Thanks again!!!

Big News in a Little Body

Brothers and Sisters, Friends and Supporters, God has given us a wonderful gift. This gift is small, and at the moment only is 2 centimeters long, but this little gift will, with God’s grace, grow into a child ready to burst onto the scene of this present world. We were able to go to a local physician who gave us the wonderful news that Amy and Jacob are having a baby!

We have both had much cause for joy and sorrow throughout our relationship. Even through our early marriage we have had ups and downs. Many of you have been with us and shared in our mutual happiness and sadness. We invite you to share in the joy of this wonderful gift of God by praising Him and celebrating His goodness. As Romans 12:15 says “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn”. Praise God for a time of rejoicing!

Of course a baby means we will need all sorts of prayers, both for us to be strong during these next months, (and the rest of our lifetime), and for our unborn child. There are all sorts of wonderful little details that the Lord will no doubt figure out in His own time. Prayer for us during those times when we are trying to figure out those little details is absolutely needed.

Rango

As many of you now know, based on Jacob's facebook status, he won 2 free tickets to the movies. It was amazing to me that he was able to get through to a radio station let alone actually win the tickets! Let me tell you how the day at the movies went.....

Saturday morning... Jacob says "Amy I have a surprise for you today!! Its a big surprise and your not allowed to know about it." Ha Ha Ha :) So of course, for the rest of the day I kept asking and trying to pry the surprise out of him. Were we going bowling? Going out for dinner? Going shopping? But like always, he wouldn't tell me. We continued our original plans for the day: grocery shopping and studying until about 1ish. Then Jacob said "ok time to go...lets go." So we drove, and since we are new to the city I had NO idea where we were going, until we pulled into the a theater. The movies!! Jacob surprised me with a Saturday outing to see Rango!

Now, I had never been thrilled to see this movie but knew that Jacob had been wanting to see it since it came out. The commercials made it seem like a funny, kid kind of movie; when in reality it was not a kids movie. It was more like an animated adult movie. I was shocked that it was rated pg and couldn't imagine bringing our kids to see this movie. There came a point in the movie when Jacob and I almost got up and left because it was very adult and not funny.

Even though the movie wasn't great, it was sooo much fun to spend an afternoon at the movies with my hubby. We had a great time together and can't wait to win more free tickets!!

Rules we broke today

Today, we broke ALLLLL the rules.

What a great day spent together accomplishing many things that needed to be done!

First we broke the "never go to the bank on a Saturday" rule.
Then we broke the "never go to Best Buy on Saturday" rule.
Then we got even more daring and went grocery shopping on Saturday! This isn't just a rule we broke, it's practically a capital offense.
After getting wonderful deals on all sorts of food (We miss Kroger and Meijer ALOT!!!), we broke another rule-coming home to Wallace and then leaving again. After unloading all the wonderful groceries and putting them away, we broke yet another rule: don't eat breakfast after 12PM.....

Jacob had French toast, bacon, 2 sunny-side up eggs with strawberries on top (totally a Jacob breakfast). After which he said he still very much missed "Jackies" back in Michigan with their wide variety of Pancakes and French Toast.
Amy had.....(Drum roll) A Chicken Sandwich. Hey at least she is branching out (away from chicken fingers and chicken nuggets).
After a very eventful morning and afternoon, the couple came home, wrote a blog, and lived happily ever  after (after Laundry).

Hey everyone! I know it has been a long time since I've posted (at least it feels like a long time). I was not expecting to be so busy but we have been and therefore posting has gotten postponed.  There have been many struggles for me and Jacob over the past week and a half. One of the biggest struggles has been lack of routine due to classes being canceled and work being closed. I just wanted to write a quick post and share a song with you that has become one of my favorites and close to my heart this past week.  Enjoy!
