Wow! I can't believe it has been a month since we have posted on this blog. Life has been so busy! I never would have thought that our summer, let alone this past month, would be as busy as it has been. I can't believe its already time for me to go back to work! I thought this summer would be slow, boring and hard to get through, when in reality it was fast, exciting and easy. I learned so much about myself and us as a couple. I have learned that I love staying a home and working in the house. I have been able to focus on being a full time wife to my husband and not feel like I have to juggle a million different things.
One of my struggles this past month has been focusing on getting work done and not looking at this month as vacation. Since I start work again after Labor Day, it has been hard to not look at the last couple weeks of August as vacation and time to just rest. One tactic that worked for me in overcoming this was making a list to do everything and breaking those tasks up by watching a movie. Although I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, I was able to pack some of our fancy dishes for our future move, and get rid of some clothes and books. I am thankful that I was able to be home this summer and am also thankful for my job.
One of my great accomplishments of this summer was learning to crochet! I bought a book and taught myself the basic stitches. I have not yet learned any of the advance stitches but have learned the basics. I started off by making a purse and got tired of making that pretty quick. I am now working on a small blanket, maybe just for your lap. I am doing my own pattern that consists of single crochet stitch and double crochet stitch. This way I can perfect these stitches before starting on something more difficult.
This is just a small piece of what I have done
